What services do you offer to folks during conception, pregnancy, birth, or postpartum?
Psychotherapy with a somatic approach that addresses fertility, conception including IVF, pregnancy, birth, postpartum, parenting, marital ups and downs, and loss.
How did you get into your line of work?
By self-discovering roots to my own bodily tensions and traumas, many of which occurred during my own emergence into the world. I dove deep into the perinatal sequence, namely the time of conception through birth and severing the umbilical cord, and familiarized myself with the perinatal domain of the psyche. This aspect of our psyche takes shape through the perinatal sequence, and is often linked to multi-generational and epigenetic trauma.
What do people think you do to support folks?
People see me as a psychotherapist, but a BIG part of psychotherapy involves gently untethering misconceptions about our identities. In a way, I am more a doula of the psyche, helping clients give birth to the rich fertile soil of their own true selves, while allowing aspects of their identity which no longer serves to become like compost.
What is something that you feel like you are uniquely able to help people with?
To help clients unravel trauma, pain, and misunderstanding from their bodies and minds through somatic meditations and visualizations. I’ll even weave in herbal and food recommendations that can support through gentle nourishment.
What is the one piece of advice you find yourself telling people over and over again?
You alone are not responsible for "breaking" the pattern of your parents and grandparents...it takes several generations for change to take shape, and yes, that includes the loving participation of your little one(s) born into your shared family and lineage!
